1st Separate Medical Battalion

The 1st Separate Medical Battalion is a unit that combines advanced approaches to the evacuation of the wounded and the provision of qualified medical care to the military directly on the front line. In the unit, the soldiers create an army in which they want to serve and serve on the principle of “wound-centricity”. The battalion was created by expanding the medical service of the 1st International Legion, taking into account the realities of the war, as well as the professionalism of doctors and military, gained during hostilities in Kharkiv, Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia. Now the unit continues to perform tasks in the combat zone. In 2026, the unit entered the top three in the rating of the Defense Forces in terms of the number of e-points received for successful operations using LRC and became a leader among units in the number of targeted evacuations from the combat zone together with centers of emergency medical care and disaster medicine.
